"his body cannot hide his heart because of his great love for God and God's people..."
"Edgar, Ed, Edu, Doods or Egay to his friends, started his education at Colegio de la Milagrosa presently known as St. Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon. After the 4th grade he transferred and finished his grade school in Sorsogon East Central School (commonly known as Burabod Elementary School.) After graduation, he decided to enter the seminary [as influenced by his older brother who was at that time studying in the seminary. He completed his high school and college with a degree of AB Philosophy at the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Seminary [some jokingly calls the best barangay college] here at Sorsogon. He then completed his Theological studies at the Loyola School of Theology, MA Pastoral Ministry, while residing and being formed at San Jose Seminary at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.
Edgar has been an achiever. He graduated as the batch valedictorian in his grade school, besting over 400+ students. Also in high school, he topped in his class. He was also the oral comprehensive exams topnotcher in Philosophy of batch 1995 of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Seminary. These were some of his achievements aside from other numerous non-academic awards (being a sports buff) and citations he got during his school years.
Edgar after his 10th year in the seminary decided to take a leave of absence or indefinite regency. He worked in an electronics company as a personnel officer under the HR department. But only after more than a year, decide to return to the seminary and decided to continue his “true” vocation.
Edgar is a true friend and companion to many. Wherever he spent his apostolate during summers and week-ends, he left good impressions in the hearts and minds of the people in these places. Truly, he has the potentials of a good pastor.
Rev. Fr. Edgar Ballesteros Cleofe, fondly called Ting- ting by his family and relatives, is the 4th child of (+)Mr. Jose C. Cleofe and Ms. Luningning F. Ballesteros. He was born on the 13th of December 1973. Considered as the black sheep of the family – not because of his attitude and actions but because of his skin color."
